How to Install Sounds

To add ringtones and system sounds to your Windows Powered Pocket PC or Smartphone, simply do the following:

Open your ActiveSync application and select the "Explorer" tab.
Click on "My Pocket PC".
You'll see a "Windows" directory- copy the sounds from your zip file into this directory.
On your Pocket PC or Smartphone, select: Start - Settings - Sounds & Notifications.
Make sure you have "Enable Sounds for Events and Programs" checked.
Select the "Notifications" tab.
Select the event sound you want to change, then select your new sound from the "play sound" drop down menu.

To add our sounds to a device that isn't running the Pocket PC operating system, you must have a wav file compatible device. Please consult your owners manual for further instruction.

Please note that our sounds are NOT sent directly to your phone- they are stand alone wav files and must be installed.

The demo files you hear on the site are lo-fi because they've been compressed for ease of page loading and auditioning. There has also been noise added to the demo files for security reasons. In some cases this makes the demo files sound slightly different than the downloaded version.

Crashing or Freezing

Mac users: If you are using Internet Explorer and experiencing problems, try allocating more memory to it. If problems persist with IE, try using Netscape.

All users: Due to the nature of the Internet, you may occasionally experience "browser freeze" or dropped connections. If you ever have any trouble ordering, contact us, we'll make sure your transaction is completed and your experience pleasant.

Privacy

Rest assured that we will never sell, give, or trade your personal information with any other party. We won't even use your information for PortableSounds.com promotional reasons without your consent.

Soundrangers' sounds are licensed, not sold, for use within the purchaser's personal devices, creations or productions. All copying, lending, duplicating, reselling or distributing of this product to any party other than the purchaser is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply with this is in violation of state and federal copyright laws. Only the original purchasers of this product have the right to use the enclosed sounds.
Any intention of usage beyond the above mentioned shall require written consent from Soundrangers.
